Crunchy Olive Oil Granola - Ingredients
- oat flakes – I mostly use regular, large-leaf oats. You can also use spelt flakes or gluten-free oats.
- maple syrup – The maple syrup provides the sweetness in the crunchy granola and allows it to caramelize slightly during baking – mmm…

How to make homemade granola with olive oil
This olive oil granola is very easy to prepare, making it ideal for baking with children.
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Then press the mixture onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. If you press it down firmly with a spatula, you get these big, crunchy clusters.
The granola needs to bake for a total of about 30 minutes. After half of the baking time, you need to stir it roughly and press it down again.
TIPP: When the granola gets a light golden color, it is ready to be take out of the oven. Carefully remove the baking tray from the oven and allow the olive oil granola to cool UNTOUCHED for at least 30 minutes. If it cools "in one piece", you will get large, crunchy pieces once cold.

Once completely cooled, the granola should be stored in a container with a lid in a cool, dark place and used within 3 weeks.
